No matter what kind of loss, I am sure I can speak for most, it forces one to reflect and reevaluate life.

Loss changed everything for me. Everything as I knew it has changed. It is scary. I did not choose it but I am embarking on a new chapter in my life and doing my best to consciously create the best life for Kenny and I.

It is awkward and uncomfortable to interact with someone who had a major loss in their life. What do you say?

It is awkward and uncomfortable to interact with someone who had a major loss in their life. What do you say?

"I don't know what to say but I know this is a very tough time for you, I want you to know I am thinking about you".

I just had someone share these words with me; it touched me. I do not hear these words very often.

Lean in.
Bring it up. Acknowledge the loss.
Crying is healing.

When we lean in it says "I care", "you are seen", "you are not alone".

For most this simple act makes a big difference.

It is awkward and uncomfortable to interact with someone who had a major loss in their life but letting them know you care in my experience is always better than saying nothing at all.

Loss is traumatic. Loss changes everything.

Loss is traumatic. Loss changes everything.
